Social Skills Classes
The Hangout Spot provides specialized play and social skills instruction rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis in a thoughtfully structured, small group setting. Classes are facilitated by our experienced Behavior Technicians and supervised by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts. Classes meet between one and three times per week, depending on each child’s individual needs.
Generalization classes teach children to apply the skills they learn across different settings and with different people while providing additional practice opportunities. Classes are structured as exciting get-togethers focused on special activities including holiday events, teen nights, and more. Social success is facilitated by our highly-qualified staff throughout each class.
School’s out for the summer! Our traditional social skills instruction is embedded into summer classes, allowing families to access more frequent services during weeks away from school.
The Play Space
Our developmental playgroups provide a small, supportive environment for our littlest friends to embark on their first learning experience with peers. A particular focus is placed on building a strong social foundation by teaching critical toy play, people play, and group skills that young children need to succeed.
Is your child hosting a special event or invited to an upcoming celebration? Navigating social gatherings can be challenging, so The Hangout Spot provides highly qualified staff to support your child’s social success at your next big occasion.
Our family coaching services empower parents, caregivers, and even siblings to support a child’s social success outside the walls of our center. Participants leave coaching with actionable steps and hands-on experience they can apply in the home and community settings. Contact us to learn more about our coaching options.
Young Adult Meet Ups
Young adults ages 18+ are invited to participate in our monthly get-togethers, co-sponsored in collaboration with Westport College Prep. Each themed event will provide an opportunity for young adults to meet new people in a fun, supportive setting. Check out our calendar for information regarding upcoming Meet Ups and contact firstname.lastname@example.org to purchase your ticket today.
